Windows app setup guide

On a PC, VPNPass runs as a desktop app with an icon in the taskbar tray. It reaches all 62 cities, offers three protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN over UDP or TCP, and IKEv2), and its kill switch stops traffic whenever the tunnel drops. The app has not been released yet. Once it is, accounts holding a VPN pass with time left will find it under My info > Get the apps.

Supported versions · A PC on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit edition.

Install and connect

  1. 1Top up your balance with crypto, add a VPN pass to your cart and check out.
  2. 2Go to My info > Get the apps and download the Windows installer.
  3. 3Run the installer. Click Yes when Windows asks to add a network adapter.
  4. 4Sign in the way you signed up: email and password, or your account token.
  5. 5Type a country name in the search box, or expand a country to see its cities.
  6. 6Press Connect. The status should change to Connected within a few seconds.

WireGuard, OpenVPN or IKEv2 on a PC?

Start with WireGuard. It connects fast and recovers quickly after the PC wakes from sleep. If a hotel or company network blocks it, try OpenVPN over TCP, which passes most firewalls because it resembles ordinary encrypted web traffic. IKEv2 is the third option and reconnects well on laptops that hop between networks.

A Plus or Pro pass shows a few more toggles in Settings: ad and tracker blocking, malicious site blocking and Double VPN. With Pro, your dedicated IP appears as its own entry above the shared server list.

What belongs in split tunneling?

Only the programs that misbehave on a VPN address. Common examples are banking security plug-ins, a NAS or printer on your home network, and game launchers whose anti-cheat rejects VPN IPs. Add those and leave everything else inside the tunnel.

If you often work from cafes or airports, switch the kill switch on and leave it on. A Wi-Fi hiccup then can't send a few seconds of traffic out over your real IP.

The app says Connected, yet pages hang

Nine times out of ten, a second VPN program or an extra firewall has grabbed the network adapter first. Quit the other VPN completely, change the protocol in Settings and test again. Leave a reinstall for last.

A device limit warning means your pass already has the maximum number of devices online. Disconnect one you are not using. When a PC is shut down without disconnecting, its slot frees up by itself a few minutes later.

FAQ for this device

Does my PC use one of my device slots?

Only while it is connected. Your pass counts devices that are online at the same moment: up to 6 on Basic, 10 on Plus and 12 on Pro. Disconnect the PC and the slot is free again.

Do I have to uninstall my old VPN?

No, it can stay on the PC. Just don't run it at the same time as VPNPass. Two VPNs active together fight over the routing table and neither works properly.

Is the Windows installer out yet?

Not yet. It's still in preparation, so there's no file to download yet. When it's released, it will show up under My info > Get the apps for any account with an active VPN pass. You won't need to ask us for it.
