Filter one: ads and trackers
A page you open usually pulls its ads and tracking code from other servers. We keep a list of those servers, and while this filter is on, any call to them is dropped before anything downloads.
The difference shows most where a browser blocker cannot reach: the banner under a free puzzle game, or a recipe app that loads a dozen trackers before the recipe.
Filter two: scam and malware sites
This one checks each destination against lists of phishing and malware hosts. Tap a fake parcel text, or land on a page claiming your phone is infected, and the connection never opens.
Fresh scam pages appear daily, faster than any list can follow. Count the filter as one extra layer and keep installing updates.
A checkout button that does nothing
Once in a while a site depends on code that resembles tracking. A checkout button goes dead or a sign-in box never shows. Pause the ads and trackers filter and refresh.
If that solves it, leave the filter paused for that visit only. Malicious site blocking almost never causes trouble like this, so keep it running.
Turning them on
Plus and Pro each include the pair. Use one, both, or neither.
Filtering stops when VPNPass is disconnected, and apps you kept out with split tunneling skip it. The switches will be in the VPNPass apps, which are still being prepared.
- Settings > Protection
- Turn on ad and tracker blocking, malicious site blocking, or both
- Reconnect so the change applies
